Lakai Limited was founded in 1999 by Mike Carroll and Rick Howard. They are known for producing "the shoes we skate."

The Guy Hi has a vulcanized sole. This colorway is black suede with royal blue accents and is the pro model of Guy Mariano, whose skateboard video parts have been influential to many people since the early 1990's.
