DVS was founded in 1999 by Tim Gavin. They are known for producing shoes "in the skateboard tradition".

The Luster is a new model for DVS this summer. It is a low profile, lightweight shoe that has a silhouette similar to some of the world's original "canvas sneakers". One feature that sets it apart from other low profile shoes in its class is its use of Bruise Control reinforcement in the heel.
